Wooddale Box Culvert Repair

Assessment-driven repair extending the life of a drainage crossing under S. Lake Shore Drive.

Repair What Works, Fix What Doesn't

The box culvert beneath S. Lake Shore Drive showed its age - spalling inside the barrel and erosion carving away at the outlet, where a drop in water elevation concentrated energy. Lynch investigated the structure and designed a repair that extends its service life instead of replacing it.

Construction plans added a concrete apron and riprap at the outlet to stabilize the channel, dissipate energy, and stop the erosion - with permits secured and coordination handled directly with Town of Linn and WDNR officials. Practical scope, long-term resilience.
