Rebuilding East Troy's historic five-corner square into a safer, calmer, more walkable downtown destination.
East Troy's historic Village Square operated as a confusing five-intersection tangle - two mid-square stop signs, free-flowing legs, and lanes so wide they read as two. Working with the Village, Lynch redesigned the square as a stop-controlled roundabout with landscaped areas and clear traffic delineators, bringing order and calm to the heart of downtown.
The reconstruction went well beyond pavement: expanded parking, widened decorative concrete walks that support retail and outdoor dining, ADA-compliant hardscape throughout, and new pedestrian facilities linking the square to the East Troy Electric Railroad for a true multi-modal downtown.
Lynch provided design, bidding, and construction oversight - managing field coordination, progress tracking, quantity verification, and final payments while downtown businesses stayed open around the work.
The photos on this page follow that work from open trenches and new utility structures to fresh pavement and the finished decorative walks that now frame the square.
